Der Struwwelpeter

Saw a comedy show about this kid's book (Der Struwwelpeter) written by this German guy Heinrich Hoffman in the 1840s. They are moral stories taken way too far... like the kid who sucks his thumbs and gets them chopped off with giant scissors... and the girl who plays with matches and burns herself alive. I wonder how many kids were traumatised by this book. Pretty disturbing!!!
